Dropping off and picking up your child

The safe arrival and departure of your child is of utmost importance to the Academy. The academy site is open from 7.30am for your child to wait until the start of the school day at 8.25am.

We recommend that if parents choose to drop off / pick up their child, then they do so by using the Chadwick Street entrance. There is 2 hours free parking available on the street in the marked bays. Parents are politely reminded that parking or waiting outside of these marked bays is prohibited.

Please note the academy does not have any visitor or parent parking on site (with the exception of disabled parking).

Safety of students

Please ensure that you are confident that your son or daughter is safely making their way to school. As part of the development of the site we have paid to put in place a number of road crossings to ensure the safe travel of students. It is essential that your son or daughter does use these to keep themselves safe on their journey. If necessary we recommend that families support their child by ensuring that they walk or travel to school with your son or daughter to ensure you are confident that they are crossing safely and sensibly on their journey.

Please can we ask that if your son or daughter uses a bike to get to school you familiarise yourself with the law regarding cycling on the road and not the pavement. If you would like your son or daughter to cycle to school we have a safe cycling club on a Monday where they can gain their Level 3 Bikeability certification. It is, however, essential that they have and wear a helmet at all times whilst travelling to and from the academy. The same applies to scooters, skateboards are not allowed as they cannot be stored safely.
